We are very proud to be a partner of the KRITIS ENV (Nutrition Emergency Preparedness) with CRISAM®, a research project funded by the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education & Research).
Together with our project partners, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and Kühne Logistics University gGmbH, we as CALPANA are responsible for the implementation of this milestone in Germany’s emergency preparedness with CRISAM®.
The overall aim of the project is to improve the authorities’ ability to act in a targeted manner in the event of a potential disruption to the food supply in Germany. Data exchange and improved communication between the authorities responsible for KRITIS and companies in the food industry are to be facilitated by IT-supported communication platforms and decision-making aids.
CRISAM as an RCMS (risk management and communication system) is the basis for this and over the course of the three-year research project, procedures and tools for communication and cooperation will be developed together with the scientific partner, Kühne Logistics University gGmbH.
In short, maintaining the food supply in crises is at the centre of this project and we are proud to be able to make a significant contribution with the GRC platform CRISAM®.
From climate change and pandemics to cyber threats, the threats to a country’s critical infrastructure (KRITIS) are subject to constant change, which requires continuous adaptation and further development of protection. This is why the resilience of critical infrastructures is becoming increasingly important in research programmes at national, European and international level.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war have shown what can happen to supply chains under such extreme pressure. There is a great need for authorities and the private food industry to work together efficiently to maintain the food supply in Germany.
